Today - Students of Ecole J.L. Couroux help design their playground!

Les élèves de l'école élémentaire J.L. Couroux aident à concevoir leur nouveau terrain de jeu en participant au processus démocratique "Dotmocracy". Les élèves auront l'opportunité de sélectionner de l'équipement qu'ils aimeraient pour la cours d'école.

Students of École J.-L.-Couroux help design their playground through a process called Dotmocracy. Students will be given the opportunity of selecting play equipment which would used in the design of their playground.

La grande annonce! The big announcement to the students!

Mercredi 17 Novembre - Wednesday November 17th

C’est avec joie que Jolo le loup a annoncé la grande nouvelle aujourd’hui aux élèves de notre école !  Les petits et les grands ont chaleureusement accueilli  la nouvelle avec des Hourra!,  des Yé!, et  des applaudissements.   Leurs yeux pétillants et leur sourire étaient assez pour gonfler notre cœur de parent.  Quelle fierté de les voir! 

La direction de l’école, Mme Léna Kadian, ainsi que le président du conseil d’école, M Francis Marquis, ont animé le tout et ont souligné l’origine de notre école en présentant des  parents fondateurs de JLC.   Nous tenons à vous remercier tous d'être déplacés pour faire partie du lancement officiel  de notre beau projet.  Merci à M Lanctôt,  Mme Lanctôt et Mme Latulippe et votre équipe.  Sans vous notre école n’existerait pas.  Merci à Mme Gisèle Neil, première directrice de JLC, à M. Lavigne et Mme D’Amato qui enseignent à notre belle école depuis les premières années de sa fondation.   Encore une fois un grand MERCI à LTBK de nous  épauler dans ce projet !  Les gens des médias étaient aussi présents Jack FM, EMC, ainsi que les médias du CECCE. 

Enfin, la boucle fut bouclée avec nul autre que la chanson thème de l’école, une chanson composée par des élèves et des enseignants de JLC.   Ah nous n’exagérons pas en vous disant que l’énergie était électrisante!

It is with great pleasure that Jolo le loup announced the exciting news to the students at the school today!  All of the children, big and small, greeted him with cheers and applause.  Seeing the kids’ smiles and their eyes wide with excitement, it was enough to make a parent’s heart fill with joy.  It made us proud!

The principal of the school, Mrs Léna Kadian, as well as the president of the school board, Mr Francis Marquis, started off the announcement by presenting the students with special guests, the founders of JL Couroux.  We thank you all for coming and being part of our announcement that the students have won this special award. Thank you to Mr Lanctôt, Mrs Lanctôt and Mrs Latullippe and your team. Without you, the school would not exist. Thank you to Mrs Gisèle Neil, the first principal of JL Couroux, and to Mr Lavigne and Mrs D’Amato who have been teaching at the school since the first year of the schools foundation. Once again a big THANK YOU to Let them be Kids for launching this project! We also had our friends from the media attend: Jack FM, EMC as well as our in house media CECCE.

The conclusion of the presentation ended with all of our students and teachers singing the schools theme song. It is with no exaggeration, that the energy in that gymnasium was electrifrying!

L'initiative Let Them Be Kids est une première en son genre - Le programme
national aide les communautés, comme la nôtre, à construire des terrains de jeux dans les cours d'école.  Ce projet réunira les efforts de divers membres de la communauté et créera des liens solides pour un meilleur avenir.
